Legend tells of a muisca king who would cover himself in gold.
El dorado myth or legend. The story was based on the muisca people who performed a ceremony similar to that in the legend. However other rumors of treasure filled places in peru exist even now. The legend of el dorado originated in colombia and it appears we have enough evidence to explain that legend today. The el dorado myth had its roots in the vast fortunes discovered in mexico and peru.
In 1533 francisco pizarro discovered the inca empire in the andes of south america. Spanish for the golden one originally el hombre dorado the golden man or el rey dorado the golden king was the term used by the spanish empire to describe a mythical tribal chief zipa of the muisca people an indigenous people of the altiplano cundiboyacense of colombia who as an initiation rite. Hunters still cling to the belief there is an el dorado in south america. Ive been wanting to make this video for a while now i hope its as good as i hoped itd be.
The muisca king covered with gold dust boarded a raft in the lake and made offerings to the gods. L d e r d o.
